Prince Caspian

This book too is great.  It is the fourth book in the Chronicles of Narnia, and I wouldn't mind calling it the best.
Prince Caspian, by C.S. Lewis, 216 (times 2) pages

Edmund, Lucy, Peter, and Susan are going back to boarding school when whoosh and they're in Narnia!  They had once been kings and queens of Narnia as adults, but once back in our world, they were children again.  Between that time and now in Narnia, thousands of years have passed and now the children are in the ruins of the castle they were kings and queens in!  They meet a dwarf who tells them about how the talking beasts and other Narnian creatures were almost wiped out by humans from Telmarine.  Prince Caspian is one of the Telmarines, but he is on the old Narnian's side.  He had blown through a horn that called for help and therefore Edmund, Lucy, Susan, and Peter appeared.  Now it's up to Prince Caspian, the children, and the old Narnians to defeat the Telmarines and send them back home.  If they don't succeed, then the Telmarines completely take over Narnia, and the real Narnians will be gone forever.
