The Shakespeare Stealer

I actually read this book quite a while ago at the beginning of the school year, but I never posted it on my blog.
The Shakespeare Stealer, by Gary Blackwood, 216 pages

Widge, and orphan, is bought by Falconer, who works for Simon Bass from Dr. Bight.  Falconer accompanies Widge to London where Widge is supposed to copy Shakespeare's Hamlet in a secret code he learned from Dr. Bight.  Eventually Widge unwillingly has no choice other than to join the Shakespeare's company!  He later makes friends with the people in Shakespeare’s company, and considers them family, but if he betrays his Falconer and Bass (who later turn out to be the same person), Widge may get severely punished.  Widge has to make a hard decision: betray his first friends, or his master.
